Cruzin’ for a Cause 2024

On Sunday, August 24th, 2024, Hinton, AB, was abuzz with excitement as a parade of vehicles rolled into town for the second annual CSN Cascade car show, “Cruzin’ for a Cause.” In a close-knit community like Hinton, where news of a neighbor’s health struggles or a local charity in need resonates deeply, events like this serve as a powerful reminder of the positive impact of coming together to support one another.

Leading the charge was Theran Grinnell, the shop’s CRC, alongside Assistant Location Manager Krista Schappert and Location Manager Keith Schappert. Their dedication helped draw car enthusiasts from Hinton and the surrounding areas to admire an impressive lineup of rat rods, classic cars, and custom-built vehicles.

Reflecting on the event’s success, Keith Schappert remarked, “It is amazing to see how surrounding communities support each other in a time of need.”

The day was fueled not only by the excitement of the show but also by delicious offerings from local vendors. Gus’ Pizza Place provided burgers, King Drugs and the Soda Shoppe served up hot dogs, and Napa Auto Parts hosted a BBQ with Theran’s family taking on the role of grill masters.

Attendees had the chance to vote for their favorite vehicle, and Don Spinella’s stylish Chevrolet clinched the “People’s Choice” trophy.

CSN Cascade is thrilled to announce that the show raised over $5,000 for Phil Morris, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. This generous support from Hinton and neighboring communities will help ease Phil’s financial burdens during his challenging journey.

Theran Grinnell expressed his pride and gratitude: “I loved being able to see the community and surrounding communities such as Jasper, Grande Cache, and Edson and our team at CSN Cascade come together to help. It was a really uplifting and rewarding experience, and I think we pulled it off! I am super proud of the crew here!”
