CSN Sponsoring Community Fundraising Events
ARA to Kick off 2023 Gala Fundraiser with CSN as a Sponsor
The Automotive Retailers Association (ARA) in B.C., formed in 1951, is the largest trade association of its kind in Canada, with over 1,000 business members across British Columbia. In 2015, the ARA established the Automotive Retailers Foundation Inc. (ARFI) as a registered charitable foundation advance education and relieve poverty in Canada, particularly within the automotive trade sector.
The ARA annual gala fundraising event, taking place this year on September 29th and 30th 2023, aims to generate funds for scholarships and bursaries awarded by ARFI that help entice youth and other demographics to consider a career in the automotive industry – visit www.ARFI.ca for details. In 2022, the Gala Fundraiser successfully raised $35,900 and the aim is to raise more than the previous year. As a member of the ARA, CSN is committed to furthering the association’s goals through sponsorship. Through the ARA’s www.AutoCareersBC.ca initiative, trade and job fairs are organised to speak to youth, visible and underrepresented minorities, and new immigrants about opportunities within the industry.

Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC)
As part of our ongoing commitment to give back to our communities, CSN is delighted to sponsor the upcoming 2023 events in Calgary, Alberta:
The Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC) fundraiser taking place on July 6th from 3:30 to 8:30pm. The Alberta Chapter of the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade was started in late 1999. The goal set out by the founders of WICC AB was to raise $1M in 10 years which they achieved on the 10-year anniversary of the Alberta Chapter.
The fundraiser has been in place for over 30 years in a social setting that encourages networking and opportunities to donate to WICC. Attendees include businesses that are part of the insurance industry such as restoration companies, insurance companies, and auto repair companies. At the event taking place in a local brewery called Bitter Sisters, participants will be treated to a live band, food, drinks, games, 50/50 draws, and a raffle. As one of the event sponsors, CSN will have a tent for marketing, so stop by and say hi!
SugarShack Fundraising Event
The SugarShack party taking place at the Cowboy’s Music Festival Centre from 4pm, July 6th. SugarShack co-chair, David Brown shares, “SugarShack is a party that started out in a backyard with friends in 1999. It has always taken place on “Sneak-a-Peek Night” (the Thursday before the Stampede Parade kicks off). In 1996, the SugarShack party was turned into a fundraiser for various charities including – Kids Cancer Care Foundation, Alberta Cancer Foundation, PASC, Defeat Duchennes Canada, and JDRF. We have raised $457k since we started fundraising, with the help of ticket sales and amazing sponsors such as CSN. Despite the event scaling up over the years, we’ve still maintained the “backyard hang out with friends” vibe. We welcome everyone to come attend, have fun, and help raise funds for the charities we support all while enjoying live performances from the Orange Whip band and Dustin Lynch. Tickets to the event can be purchased here – https://www.showpass.com/sugarshackcmf/ and their proceeds will go to these foundations – Kids Cancer Care Foundation, Defeat Duchennes Canada, and Gems for Gems.”
