Celebrating sport, community, and opportunity for athletes of all abilities

Electric City hit the greens for a great cause with its first annual golf tournament, raising funds to support special needs student athletes who want to participate in extracurricular activities such as hockey.

The event brought the community together for a day of sport, camaraderie, and generosity. Among the participants was CSN Peterborough, owned and operated by Lift Auto Group, whose team joined in to show their support.

Playing alongside members of her CSN Peterborough team, Location Manager Shireen Rynjah said, “It was such an honour to be part of this tournament. Supporting Electric City Special Needs Sports means helping young athletes access the same opportunities as their peers, and we’re proud to contribute to such an important cause.”

Funds raised will directly benefit Electric City Special Needs Sports, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals with developmental, cognitive, and physical disabilities. Its mission is to help athletes build strength, skill, sportsmanship, and life skills while deepening their love of the game and team.

Thanks to overwhelming community support, the golf tournament was a tremendous success. Organizers have already confirmed that the event will return as an annual tradition, with the next tournament scheduled for September 2026.
