Burnaby, BC – As Simon Fraser Men’s Lacrosse geared up for the 2024 season, the announcement of a sponsorship deal with CSN Collision generated excitement within the team and the community.
This partnership underscored CSN Collision’s commitment to supporting local sports, particularly as the Red Leaf’s aimed to build on a promising roster of young talent.
Entering September 2024, Simon Fraser’s men’s lacrosse team boasted a dynamic lineup of 32 players, including only one senior and five upperclassmen.
This youthful roster faced the challenge of defending their PNCLL Conference Championship title and making a return to the National Championship tournament.
Despite the challenges, the team showed remarkable growth throughout the past season, highlighted by thrilling overtime victories against rivals like the Oregon Ducks and Boise State Broncos, as well as a significant win over the nationally ranked University of Colorado Buffaloes.
However, a heartbreaking 12-10 loss to Boise State in the PNCLL Conference Championship Game served as a reminder of the competitive nature of the sport and motivated players moving forward.
The partnership with CSN Collision aims to enhance the program’s visibility and resources, allowing for increased community engagement through events, camps, and the development of a school lacrosse program.
With many incoming players, including freshmen who opted to forgo scholarship offers in the U.S., as well as up to four NCAA Division 1 and Division 2 transfers returning home to play for the Red Leaf’s the 2025 season is already looking bright.
