WE CARE ABOUT YOUR PRIVACY

CSN Collision (“we”, “us”, “our”) takes your privacy seriously. We want you to be aware of our commitment to protect the information you share in the course of doing business with us. The purpose of this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) is to disclose to you the types of personal information we gather, how we gather it, what we use it for, and inform you of the choices that you have in our use of your personal information. This Policy does not apply to the collection or usage of your information by independently owned licensee repair facilities.

For the purposes of this Policy, “personal information” means any information about, or that can be reasonably linked to, an identifiable individual, meaning information that is about you and/or that can be used to identify you.

By providing us with your personal information, visiting our website, or using our services, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Policy.

OUR COLLECTION, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Personal Information We Collect

We collect personal information about you when you explicitly provide it to us (CSN Collision), when you visit our website or otherwise interact or do business with us, and when you use our services.

The types of information that we may collect from you include:

  • your contact information, including your name, address, phone number and email;
  • your payment information;
  • information about your insurance coverage;
  • information about you that you enter into text fields;
  • information you voluntarily provide to us when contacting us, e.g. when making an inquiry or seeking customer support;
  • other relevant details about you, including your location; and
  • information you provide to us when entering into a contest.

We may also collect certain browser and activity information through your use of our website (please see the section “Interacting With Us Online” below for more information).

Note on vehicle information

While it is not personal information, we also collect, use and share information about the vehicles we repair or provide related services for. This includes vehicle year, make, model, vehicle identification number, license plate number and other information and specifications about the vehicle and repairs performed. We use, and may share, this information as part of providing our services and for other business and analytics purposes. We also share this information with third parties, such as relevant insurers, as well as service providers and other companies that provide software, analytics, and data-related solutions.

How We Collect Information

In most cases, we collect this personal information directly from you, such as when you enter various contests that we conduct or when you contact us to ask questions.

CSN Collision provides corporate support to a network of independent licensee repair facilities, and some information about you or your vehicle may be provided to us from these licensees in order for CSN Collision to support their provision of repair services and for other uses by us described in this Policy.

CSN Collision also partners with insurance companies to provide you with claims-related services. Some information about your insurance coverage may be provided to us from representatives of our partner insurance companies if required to provide you with services.

How and Why We Use Your Personal Information

We use your personal information for the purposes described in this Policy or explained to you at the time it is collected, including:

  • to enter you in contests and notify you of results if you have agreed to participate in such contests;
  • to assess, improve and personalize our products and services, and other internal business and analytics purposes;
  • to connect you to independent licensees in our network to provide goods or services;
  • to ensure security of our premises and property, and to detect and prevent fraud and other illegal or unauthorized activity;
  • to meet our legal and regulatory obligations and to otherwise protect our rights and interests; and
  • for any other purposes with your consent or as otherwise permitted or required by law.

We may de-identify your personal information and use it for aggregated research, statistical and other purposes, such as improving our website or measuring the effectiveness of our advertising. We may also anonymize personal information and use it for research and other purposes as permitted by law.

Who We Share Personal Information With

We may share personal information with trusted affiliates, partners, and third parties to perform services on our behalf and to assist us in providing our products and services to you. This may include:

  • Service providers that perform necessary services on our behalf, including advertising and marketing, payment, customer support, financial, professional, mailing, and information technology services;
  • Independent licensees in our corporate support network, only if and to the extent required to provide you with products and services; and
  • Our partner organizations as applicable if you receive relevant services, including our insurance, towing, and rental car companies.

We only share personal information with our affiliates, partners, and service providers where reasonably necessary for our or their purposes. We require service providers to protect personal information shared with them, and we limit their use and retention of information to what is necessary to provide their services to us.

We may also disclose personal information to other third parties in the following circumstances:

  • To government or regulatory bodies to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, legal processes, and governmental requests;
  • To protect us, including our rights, interests and property, to respond to emergencies, and to protect the safety of any person;
  • To detect and prevent fraud, and to investigate and enforce the potential breach of an agreement or law or other wrongdoing;
  • When it is relevant to a business transaction, such as a sale of part or all of CSN Collision, a re-organization, or a partnership opportunity; and
  • When we have obtained your consent, or as otherwise permitted by law.

Cross-Border Transfers

We may transfer your personal information to our international headquarters or to trusted third parties located outside of your province, state, Canada or the United States, where it may be accessed, stored, or otherwise processed. We will ensure that measures are taken to protect your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws no matter where it is used or stored.

When your personal information is transferred to a jurisdiction outside of your province, state, Canada or the United States, it may be subject to the law of that foreign jurisdiction, including any law permitting or requiring disclosure of the information to the government, government agencies, courts and law enforcement.

Safeguarding Your Information

We use various measures to safeguard your personal information, including physical protection (e.g., restricted office access), organizational protection (e.g., limiting access on a need-to-know basis), and technological protection (e.g., passwords, encryption). We have internal policies and procedures that govern how we use and protect personal information, handle complaints and access requests, respond to privacy breaches and delete data when no longer required.

In the event of a security breach involving personal information, CSN Collision will investigate the incident promptly and take remedial measures we determine to be appropriate. We will notify affected individuals and regulators where required by law, and maintain records of breaches as required by applicable privacy legislation.

We retain your personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we identify in this Policy, including to satisfy any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or reporting requirements. We will not retain your personal information for longer than is necessary to fulfil these purposes unless required or permitted by law. Where permitted by law, we may retain anonymized information for longer for our own research or other purposes.
