The people of Swift Current are passionate about local initiatives that benefit their families, friends, and neighbours. CSN Klassen lends its support to organizations such as The Center, a youth initiative that offers a fun and safe place for the youth of the Swift Current community. The Center strives to make youth related resources, programs, and counselling readily available, affordable, and easily accessible. Dorie’s House, a Place for Youth to Call Home
Dorie’s House in downtown Swift Current is a not-for-profit organization providing resources to overcome substance abuse and emergency shelter for at-risk youth.
Originally initiated as a way for citizens and businesses to give back to the community, the facility relies upon the generosity of Swift Current locals to fiscally maintain its operations. Dorie’s House hosts various events to encourage support and raise awareness, including a recent 5km run.
“Dorie’s House 5k Colour Run” is a fun, untimed event for all ages and abilities that follows the Chinook Pathways to the finish line at Kinetic Park. This year, the event had over 200 participants.
CSN Klassen was proud to sponsor the annual event which has raised over $30,000 since its inception 9 years ago.
