Quality Collision Repair in Grande Prairie

Star Autobody Ltd was founded in 1987 with the owner, Les Toews, and one employee operating out of an 1800 square foot rented shop in Crooked Creek, Alberta.

Over the years we have grown steadily. In 1994 we moved into a new 5000 square foot facility and in 2008 the shop was almost doubled again, making room for more service bays, additional parts storage, and an all-new Nova Verta paint bake booth designed for the new water-borne paints.

In 2014 we saw an opportunity to better serve our Grande Prairie area customers. We leased a 3000 square foot facility in Clairmont to provide estimate services and a drop-off point for jobs that needed transporting to our main shop. At the same time, we joined a banner program, CSN (Collision Services Network), to provide our customers with nationwide service and warranty. This caused a name change from Star Autobody to CSN Star Autobody Group.

In 2018, we expanded into Valleyview with the purchase of Barks Bodyworks, which then became CSN Star Valleyview. This facility services High Prairie, Fox Creek, and the surrounding areas.

In the fall of 2020, we moved the Clairmont location into a new 11,000 sq ft facility in Grande Prairie, now called CSN Star Grande Prairie.

Our most recent expansion was in 2023 when we renovated the Crooked Creek location, adding a large Paint booth to accommodate heavy trucks, and created the CSN Star Truck Centre. This latest facility gives us capacity to handle collision repairs on Highway tractors, Cranes, Trailers, Boats, and RVs. We are set up to do Sandblasting, Fiberglass Repair, and Welding on both Steel and Aluminum in addition to general Collision repair and Painting.

Today CSN Star Autobody Group is still a family-owned company with Les and his three sons, Troy, Cody, and Wade, all active in the business. Troy and Cody are in the process of taking over more fully. With 30,000 sq feet of well-equipped floor space spread across three locations – Grande Prairie, Crooked Creek, and Valleyview, we are well equipped to service the Collision needs of the Peace Country into the future.
