CSN Father’s Day Charity Car Show is announced and will continue to raise money for the Child Advocacy Centre of Kelowna

Since acquiring the BC Interior, Boyd Autobody & Glass locations, Lift Auto Group has received many questions regarding the future of the renowned Boyd Autobody & Glass Father’s Day Car Show. For two decades, the annual charity event has been a must-see for automobile enthusiasts and families wanting to celebrate the day dedicated to their “Dads”. The event has grown to offer over 630 vehicles on display and sees close to 38,000 attendees.

Lift Auto Group committed to continue the “positive legacy” created by Methal Abougoush when it purchased the latter’s five Boyd Autobody & Glass locations in the Okanagan earlier this year, and has made good on that promise, announcing Friday that the Father’s Day Charity Car Show will continue in 2023 and beyond, all in support of Kelowna’s Child Advocacy Centre.

Serving the communities of Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country and Peachland, The CAC is a non-profit organization, designed to accommodate a team of highly skilled professionals aiming to provide a centre of leadership, promoting excellence in child abuse services, research, training and education — a collective community response to protecting children from abuse.

The newly named CSN Collision Centres Father’s Day Charity Car Show will now be proudly hosted by Lift.  Methal Abougoush remains an active member in the community, dedicated to supporting organizations like the CAC and has graciously offered to assist Lift in ensuring the event remains a success. Methal says “Actively engaging in a community for more than two decades gives you a deep understanding of what it needs and where.  The services CAC offers are invaluable to so many people. Along with Lift, I am thrilled to offer continued support to Ginny, and the team at the CAC.”

The CAC’s Executive Director, Ginny Becker says “Over the past five years the event has raised a staggering $250,000.  The relationship we have cultivated with Boyd’s, has been invaluable in growing our organization. They were one of those forward-thinking organizations that were prepared to support our mission before we were even operational. They were genuinely invested in the idea of bringing this service to our community.”

Ginny says “The fact that Lift Auto Group has jumped in to pick up where this story left off is extraordinary. We are beyond excited to see the car show come back and to continue partnering on this amazing event.”

With 2022 squared away, preparations are already underway for 2023. Headquartered in Kelowna, Lift owns and operates nine collision repair facilities under the CSN banner in the BC Interior and proudly supports many grassroots events in the region that are necessary to build a strong sense of community. Despite this change in ownership, the Father’s Day car show is already booked for June 2023 and Lift is excited to be partnering with Methal to continue the impactful legacy of this event.

Mark Reineking, President & CEO of Lift says “We recognize that originally this car show was about doing something fun for the community, by bringing families and car enthusiasts together, but over time has grown to become much more than that. The car show is an exceptional way to create awareness and community support for vital organization like the CAC, and Lift is honored to carry on the tradition pioneered by Methal”.
