CSN West End – July Shop of the Month
This month’s Shop of the Month is CSN West End, owned by Jeff, whose leadership has created something truly special.
From the moment you walk through the doors, you immediately feel at home. Whether you’re greeted in the office or out in the shop, everyone is welcoming, friendly, and genuinely cares about making people feel comfortable. That atmosphere doesn’t happen by chance. It reflects Jeff’s leadership and the culture he has worked hard to build.
One of the first things you’ll notice upstairs is a unique display of walls covered with cans and bottles. What started as a small collection by a few team members has grown into something everyone contributes to, becoming a fun tradition that perfectly reflects the culture they’ve built together.
CSN West End is performing exceptionally well across its key metrics, but Jeff isn’t satisfied with simply maintaining success. Instead, he’s focused on continuous improvement. Recently, he brought in KaizenHub to help evaluate the shop, streamline processes, and create an even cleaner, more efficient workflow.
When asked why he would invest in improving a shop that’s already performing so well, Jeff’s answer was simple:
“No matter how good you are, you can always get better.”
That mindset says everything about his approach to leadership and why the shop continues to thrive.
Jeff is also quick to recognize the people around him. His Assistant Manager, David, plays a huge role in the shop’s success. Jeff shared that one of the reasons they work so well together is because they think differently. Their different perspectives allow them to divide responsibilities based on their individual strengths, creating a strong partnership that benefits the entire team.
Beyond the shop walls, CSN West End is committed to giving back to the community. The team supports a variety of local organizations, including food drives that help seniors and other community initiatives. Their success isn’t measured only by business performance, but also by the positive impact they have on those around them.
When asked what the secret is to running such a successful shop, Jeff didn’t mention production numbers or financial results. Instead, he credited his people.
“I’m thankful for a crew of people who get along. I’m very careful about who I hire because I want to make sure everyone respects one another and enjoys coming to work.”
That philosophy is evident the moment you step inside. A welcoming culture, a commitment to continuous improvement, strong leadership, and a team built on mutual respect are what make CSN West End truly deserving of this month’s Shop of the Month recognition.
