Heartwarming Community Spirit at the 2026 Cruzin’ for a Cause Car Show

On Saturday, June 20, 2026, the small town of Hinton, Alberta, came alive as Lift Auto Group location, CSN Cascade hosted its annual “Cruzin’ for a Cause” Car Show.

This vibrant community event not only celebrated a passion for cars but also rallied support for local families in need and for the Yellowhead Women’s Shelter.

A display of approximately 25 stunning vehicles, including classic cars, rat rods, and custom-built creations, cruised into Hinton, drawing around 150 attendees from the town and surrounding areas.

The day was filled with excitement as spectators voted for their favorite vehicle, with Ian Rosseel taking home the “People’s Choice” trophy for his impressive 1986 Chevrolet “Post Apocalyptic” Rat Rod.

Among the standout contributors was K&D Detailing, who generously offered their time and expertise to support fundraising efforts. Local favourite, Pat’s Catering provided a delicious food truck experience and donated a portion of their proceeds to the cause, ensuring that everyone enjoyed a tasty meal while contributing to a noble effort. Additionally, All Choice Rentals generously donated tables and chairs for the BBQ, making it a welcoming space for families and friends to gather.

Reflecting on the day, CSN Cascade location manager, Keith Schappert, expressed his gratitude, stating, “Together, we can achieve remarkable things. It’s inspiring to see our community come together to support a common cause. Thank you to everyone who contributed!” His heartfelt words resonated deeply with the attendees and encapsulated the spirit of the event.

All proceeds from the show, totaling $4,816.34, went towards supporting three local families affected by cancer and providing essential resources for the Yellowhead Women’s Shelter, which serves women and children fleeing violence or experiencing other crises.

CSN Cascade expressed their appreciation for the generous donors who contributed items for the silent auction, further boosting the funds raised.

The collaborative effort not only resulted in substantial financial support but also strengthened community bonds, with the promise of continuing this tradition for years to come.

“Seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces and the incredible turnout truly showed how much we can achieve when we rally together for a great cause. We look forward to doing it all again next year,” added Keith.

Thank you to the entire team at CSN Cascade for your mighty efforts and dedication to your community.
